Residents at Balhousie The Glens in Edzell near Brechin, have been taking a step back in time in their craft activities this week, right back 50 years – can it really be that long – to the 1960s.
With the expert guidance of Activities Coordinator Jen Nevin, the iconic Lava Lamp has been the order of the day. And in complete conflict with those children’s programmes of yesteryear, you can try this at home!
What You Do:
- Fill your jar, or bottle most of the way with your choice of oil
- Fill the rest with water
- Add a few drops of your choice of food colouring
- Break an Alka-seltzer tablet into a few small pieces, and drop them in one at a time
- Watch your lava lamp erupt into activity!
