three children holding up their Christmas card designs.

After the success of the colouring competition with the local school back in Autumn, around the Tattie Bogle trail, our community-conscious care home, Balhousie Pitlochry got straight on to talks with the school to get the older half of the primary to design their Christmas card for them.

Sadly, as with many of the activities in December last year, with the onslaught of Omicron and necessary protections, there was a long wait for the children to find out the competition winners.

But this week the children at Pitlochry Primary School were finally told whose designs had been selected by our Pitlochry residents as their favourite Christmas cards.

All of their drawing were so fantastic, there could be no first, second or third placings, just a top three – and that was difficult to decide too!

So, introducing the winners… Laila McPhee; Eva Hayes; Aisha Miah!

Despite the news coming late, the prize – their design being printed for the Highland Perthshire care home’s Christmas greeting – went ahead as planned for Christmas 2021, and the cards then sent off to all the Pitlochry residents’ families. The children also received a voucher the local sweetshop.

Congratulations to all the entrants, and thank you for brightening the run up to Christmas with your colourful creations!
