Stormont Lodge - reading for a church service

Balhousie Stormont Lodge, Blairgowrie enjoyed their first church service for a long while. And the service came to the residents!

Activities Coordinator, Ashleigh Henvey, did a straw poll of her residents and their feelings on faith to see if a church service would be something they would enjoy. And the resounding reply was a big yes. Almost all had previously attended the Church of Scotland when they were able, and of course, before the pandemic. So, intent on a focus of person-centred care, Ashleigh contacted the local kirk, Blairgowrie Parish Church. Now the Minister brings the service to the Perthshire care home, on the last Thursday of the month, to allow as much participation as possible, regardless of mobility.

The service was hugely enjoyed by all, especially singing the hymns with gusto.

Residents are looking forward to them returning next month!
