REsidents on bus trip to dobbies

With the return of the Oomph Bus trip provision, has come days out to remember once more.

At Balhousie Luncarty the happy faces jump out of the photos they took to capture the memories. And didn’t they have a loverly time the day they went to Dobbies!

Activities Coordinator, Carla McCorquodale and Care Assistant, Jade Matthews took a second group of five residents to the Garden Centre in Perth.  And residents Gilbert, Allan, John, Anita and Irene loved their jaunt, enjoying cake and drinks and a wee mosey around the shop.

Oomph Trips Out take our residents to shopping, entertainment, nature, food & drink and many more venues, with fully trained drivers in dedicated specialist vehicles. Naturally suspended over the two years of the pandemic, they’re back now to much applause from Balhousie staff and residents alike, not least in the Perthshire care home.

Tootling home for soup and toasties, the residents were in great spirits chattering about their trip. Irene was particularly happy, saying, when she came into the home, she had thought she would never be able to go out to nice places again.

Home Manager, Cheryl Banks said: “Thanks to Carla and Jade for organising our residents such a great day out… the home was buzzing when they came home!”
