Residents at Balhousie Luncarty care home will honour Remembrance Day in “a very special way” with the help of local schoolchildren this Friday when they create a unique poppy display.
In the latest inter generational project for the Perthshire home, children from Luncarty Primary School and The Honeypot nursery, along with residents, have collected plastic milk bottles and painted poppies on them. The display is being placed in the grounds of the Perthshire care home.
Lynn Phillips, care home manager at Balhousie Luncarty – one of 25 care homes in the Balhousie Care group – said:
“Like all Balhousie Care homes, we love being involved in our local community, particularly at this time of year. It’s important that our residents and staff honour Remembrance Day, and it means so much to us that Luncarty Primary and The Honeypot have helped us do it in this very special way.
She added: “The lights our residents have made with the children are such a unique addition to our grounds and I know they are so hugely appreciated by our staff and residents.”
