Residents from three BCG homes did amazingly well at last week’s Going for Gold competition, which was themed as ‘the Dundee Olympics’ this year.
As featured on STV News, St Ronans (who went by the team name Ronans Ravers), Clement Park (Bash Street Seniors) and Moyness (Wild Grovers) all took part alongside many other Dundee care homes.
The physical challenges included football, golf putting, basketball, bowling and cup pong.
St Ronans took home the bronze overall and also claimed second prize in the ‘Best Flag’ category, while Clement Park came second in the ‘Best Name’ category.
All participants received certificates of achievement and medals, while winning teams took home trophies. There was a reminiscence corner too, for residents to enjoy between games.
Sheryl Cruickshanks, Home Manager at St Ronans said: “Our record at Going for Gold is pretty awesome. I’m so proud of what the residents and team have achieved. Well played to all involved!”
Cheryl Roy, Home Manager at Clement Park said: “All our residents from Clement Park, Moyness and St Ronan’s did so well. Some residents were out their normal comfort zone but they all were great sports and got involved in every activity. Most importantly, everyone had lots of fun. I’m so proud of the whole Team BCG.”
