Carnoustie has its own answer to Strictly Come Dancing… in the form of resident Eddie Kidd.

A resident of Balhousie Willowbank and a popular character in the home, Eddie loves a dance and is often to be find toe-tapping to the home’s music.

So when Activities Coordinator Moira Sword put on the home’s jukebox and invited Eddie for an impromptu waltz, he was game. The resulting dance, caught on camera by one of Balhousie’s staff, was a highlight of the day for residents and staff.

The couple twirled around one of Willowbank’s lounges to Nat King Cole’s Unforgettable, with Eddie – sporting his signature trilby just like one of the real Rat Pack – grinning all the way.

Born in Dundee, Eddie was a plumber and had a stint in the Army, as well as spending time working at the Timex factory in Dundee. As passionate about football as was about music and dancing, Eddie met his wife Sarah at Robbie’s Dancehall in Hawkhill.
