residents dancing at a tea dance

Its all terribly civilised at Balhousie Stormont Lodge in Blairgowrie this week.

Jock, Betty, Jean, Valerie and Pauline  headed off to the town hall to step out in style at the Tea Dance. Tea dances or thé dansant (French for “dancing tea”) are commonly associated as a staple of genteel society. So, it’s unsurprising it should be the ‘go to’ for our refined, twinkle-toed residents. To add to the afternoon’s pleasure, our revelling residents won on the raffle too!

And cultivating the air of gentility throughout the week, the Perthshire home is making the most of National Afternoon Tea Week. They’re celebrating by getting busy making fairy cakes and chocolate chip cookies to grace their Afternoon Tea tomorrow. In the immortal words of Jack buchanan…

‘Oh, the factories may be roaring
With a boom-a-lacka, zoom-a-lacka, wee
But there isn’t any roar when the clock strikes four
Everything stops for tea… !’
