For International Nurses’ Week we’re talking to our brilliant nurses about working in the private care sector.

Name: Jessica Reid

Home: The Dalguise Centre, ASC, Balbeggie

Job Title: Lead Nurse

What do you love most about being a nurse? “The thing I love the most about nursing is the tangible satisfaction in helping others achieve goals, whether it be in health promotion or in education. Having an influence on the service users I care for, their families and my peers is the greatest reward in nursing.“

What is the biggest thing you learned during the pandemic? “As healthcare leaders, we can agree that sometimes the most difficult situations are the ones in which we must learn how to improve our policies and procedures. This can be painstakingly difficult. However, if we are open to it, we can listen and learn how to do things better and even learn something about ourselves as leaders.  This is why I have been proud to be part of the ASC team throughout our shared experience of this pandemic, bringing dynamic means of change and resilience through our care provision.”
