Residents and staff at Balhousie Monkbarns care home in Arbroath are giving a massive thumbs-up to local businesses who have supplied prizes for their Christmas raffle.

The generous donations will be used for a raffle to raise money for residents’ activities. They include gifts and vouchers for: Boots, Tesco, Mackays, and B&Q, cupcakes from Cakes by Keris, and vouchers for Coffee Cabin, Golden Haddock, Cakes and Bakes, Robert Ritchie Hi-Fi and soft play centre Jumping Joeys, among others. Other donors include: Dino’s Fish Bar, Best Kebab, Nail Kandi and Beauty, Dino’s Hand Car Wash, 5 in 1 Takeaway, Sher E Bangla, Spicy Mo, Falconer, Morrisons and Kilted Competitions.

Said Deputy Manager Louise Clancy: “We have had some very generous donations and have been overwhelmed with the kindness shown by our local community. It’s testament to how well our residents and staff are thought of locally, and we can’t thank these businesses enough.

“The money raised will go into our residents’ comfort fund which pays for activities and extra entertainment here at the home.”
