For Alzheimer Awareness month we had a purple party and a discussion about the different types of dementia. We had residents and some of their family members who attended, who were interested in learning more about the illness. Some of the residents were; Bob, Gordon, Sheana, Maud, Helen, Thelma, Iris, Bet, Isabella, John and Liz.
This took place in our communal cafe, on the afternoon of the 21st of September. Those who attended found it very beneficial and enlightening. This also gave the residents the opportunity to mingle with other residents as well as their families whom they hadn’t seen for a while, giving them the chance to have a cuppy and a catch up.
