Balhousie Huntly care home is strengthening its residential accommodation offering with the opening of two exclusive units providing 10 new rooms.

The stunning properties, each with five high-spec rooms, will offer “just the right balance of privacy and assistance”, according to the award-winning Balhousie Care Group, which runs 25 homes across the north and east of Scotland.

With smart TVs and sound systems, wi-fi and dedicated staffing, the units are aimed at low-dependency clients. Residents will have full access to facilities and activities at the adjoining care home.

The properties, expected to be ready at the end of the summer, mark a significant move for Balhousie Care Group as it aims to cater for the changing needs of the older population. Claire Docherty, Head of Operations, said: “It’s important that we offer customers a wider and more flexible range of accommodation than the standard care home setting. The Huntly units are a test bed for what we see as an exciting new opportunity as a care provider.”

Balhousie Huntly is one of the group’s most popular care homes. Residents and staff were recently featured on the BBC and ITV’s This Morning show in a story about newborn lambs visiting residents for pet therapy sessions.

Nicola Sanderson, Care Home Manager at Balhousie Huntly, said: “We’re really excited to be offering these exclusive units as an extra form of accommodation, and for them to be a test bed for the company. They are currently being outfitted with all the very best fixtures and décor, providing just the right balance of privacy and assistance for residents with low-dependency needs.”

Anybody interested in the units should email enquiries@balhousiecare.co.uk or call 01466 383010.
