Balhousie Care Group’s new low-dependency accommodation will officially open on Saturday, November 2 with an event which will offer guided tours of the exclusive new accommodation.

Named Milton Mews following a public naming competition, the stunning high-spec units provide 10 upscale suites with a dedicated staff, wi-fi and smart TVs, cooking facilities, a carvery and breakfast-in-bed meal options, plus access to all the facilities, activities and dining facilities of Balhousie Huntly care home – which is just steps away.

The event takes place from 2pm to 4pm and will be combined with an open day for Balhousie Huntly care home, with drinks, refreshments, games and more.

Milton Mews at Balhousie Huntly marks a significant move for Balhousie Care Group as it aims to cater for the changing needs of the older population. Jill Kerr, Group CEO, said: “It’s important that we offer customers a wider and more flexible range of accommodation than the standard care home setting. This is a test bed for an exciting new opportunity for us as a care provider.”

The design team was inspired by everything from boutique hotels to luxury apartments. Jill said: “The feedback so far has been really encouraging. We can’t wait to show off Milton Mews on November 2nd.”

Nicola Sanderson, Home Manager at Balhousie Huntly, said the ribbon cutting would be carried out by “two very special VIPs”. She said: “Both of them have special connections to our home. All will be revealed on the 2nd!”
