On Wednesday morning of the 7th of November, the children from Timmergreens Nursery came along to the café at Monkbarns Care Home, to help the residents paint poppies for our remembrance display, to remember and pay tribute to all the fallen heroes of the first world war.  We had a marvellous turn out, many of our residents came along to the café including; Bob, Gisela, Doreen, Bet, Bella, Thelma, Sheana, Helen, Ella and Milly to name just a few. The nursery children collected the bases of plastic bottles which they brought with them and were then painted red with a black centre to symbolise the red poppies.  Shirley and Kirsty later attached the make shift poppies to greenhouse mesh and hung them up on the windows of the café along with silhouettes of soldiers.
