We have a vacancy for a Care Home Manager at Balhousie Alastrean in Tarland, Aberdeenshire.

The Role

The Home Manager will take overall responsibility for the smooth running of the Nursing Home and the general well-being of Residents and Staff Members whilst ensuring that all Company policies and procedures are adhered to. You will be responsible for formal supervision and appraisal of staff to ensure consistently high standards. You will act as a champion to ensure the Care Home is attractively presented within the local community and build and manage relationships with external stakeholders. Maintaining effective communications through regular contact / meetings with Residents, Relatives, Staff Members, Head of Operations, Head Office and any other concerned bodies is a vital part of this fantastic role.

  • Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant management/supervisory experience
  • NMC Pin (highly desirable)
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Full Driving Licence
  • SVQ Level 4 in Care Services Leadership and Management (desirable)
  • Care for the Elderly experience/qualification i.e. Registered Manager’s Award (desirable)

The Setting

The historic Alastrean House, set in idyllic landscaped grounds, was recently extensively refurbished and restored to its original grandeur. Providing hospitality with care to those requiring residential, nursing or Alzheimer and dementia care, it has scope for 51 residents and allows for on-site staff accommodation.
