The staff and residents have all had their thinking caps on to celebrate “What Matters to You” Day with them picking their preferred colour of paper and writing what matters to them. We then cut them out and laminated them, tied a piece of string and displayed them on our tree. Our resident Violet was asked what matters to her and her reply was “A great big bowl of cornflakes” which she gets every morning, setting her up for the day. June was also asked and she replied “Being able to walk and getting out and about” so the staff try to have those residents that enjoy getting out for walks out as much as possible. Its about giving person-centred care to each resident beacause that is what it is all about.
