Balhousie Willowbank care home in Carnoustie are enjoying the fruits of some fundraising efforts which took place back in June. The care home threw an 80’s themed party then asked residents, relatives and staff what they thought the £1000 raised should be spent on. It was decided that three jukeboxes, a mock phonebox and a mock postbox be bought for the front entrance of the home.

Activities Coordinator Elaine Vaughan said: “It has taken a few months for the phonebox to arrive as it needed to be made. Our maintenance man Charlie and resident Eddie Kidd put together the phoneox, with Eddie enjoying building and folding away all the cardboard. The phonebox and postbox provide a real focal point for our residents, as well as opportunities to reminisce. We are very proud of our purchases.”
