Choosing the care that’s right for you.
We understand that considering leaving somewhere that has been your home for many years can be one of the biggest decisions you will make in your lifetime. Once a care requirement is evident, there are lots of aspects to consider when choosing a care home such as types of care available, facilities, location, atmosphere and environment.
Alzheimers & Dementia
Every person living with Dementia will be affected differently, requiring an in-depth understanding of each individual in order to provide the right level of support. Balhousie Care support a growing number of residents affected by or living with this condition and our staff members are trained to support people with various types of Dementia.
Nursing Care
Many of our residents require a qualified nursing care team available to them 24-hours a day. This type of care need is called ‘Nursing Care’. Residents who require this may need intensive rehabilitative care (they may have suffered a stroke, for example), have a physical disability or suffer from a long-term condition which may require around-the-clock assistance.
Palliative Care
Balhousie Care’s main goal when it comes to palliative care is achievement of the best quality of life for our residents and their families during this difficult and often emotional period. We are here to provide dignified, sensitive and tender care and see our prime role as ‘adding quality to days’ by doing everything we can to make a resident as comfortable and as stress-free as possible at the end of their life.
Respite Care
At Balhousie Care, we understand that caring for a loved one, although rewarding, can be challenging and tiring. Everybody needs some time-off to recharge and we appreciate you will only be able to relax when you know your loved one is happy, safe and cared-for. Many of our homes offer this form of care and our highly trained and experienced staff offer both planned and emergency respite care.
