Balhousie Huntly Care Home is a community of caring people – staff, residents and relatives alike – all working together to ensure a warm, compassionate and comforting environment.

Making yourself at home

We understand that it can be a big decision to leave somewhere that has been your home for many years, but the team here are passionate about making this your home from home.

We aim to provide the flexibility and comfort you’ve enjoyed previously, but with the knowledge that, if and when you need support, you’re surrounded by professional and caring people.

The team provide a nurturing environment that respects your needs, while balancing this with opportunities to enjoy stimulating company and a wide range of activities.

Activities at Huntly Care Home

We know activities help improve overall physical strength and mental well-being, and seeing residents blossom, as our approach brings out the best in them and for them, is a joy.

Regular organised activities vary and include entertainment with regular shows, quizzes and concerts; hobbies, such as arts and crafts, flower arranging, painting and card making; and games.

Events are always optional, but our dedicated activity co-ordinator helps to deliver a full calendar of structured and meaningful activities, which family and friends can also participate in, so there’s bound to be a lot that appeals.

“Compliments to the chef, the food is lovely.”

Resident

Community

Our facilities at Huntly offer residents a flexible and comfortable environment on which to relax. A choice of dining areas is complemented by day rooms that provide access to an attractive landscaped courtyard.

An interesting feature of the home is the ‘Care Café’ which has views over the garden off the main entrance lobby. The Care Café provides a particularly nice area for residents to enjoy special occasions such as Christmas or Birthday Parties or to entertain visiting family and friends. When the weather allows, the Care Café doors can be opened onto the garden so that residents and visitors can sit outside to drink or eat.

As well as the central café space, there are other central shared spaces at first floor level, including a unisex hairdressing salon, resident quiet rooms, activity lounge and a spacious TV lounge. Each floor can be easily accessed by resident lifts.
