As Balhousie Care Group’s birthday celebrations continue, the latest care home to mark the company’s three decades in business is Balhousie Monkbarns.
A 30th birthday event at the Arbroath home included live entertainment, dancing and a bespoke cake courtesy of local bakery Cakes by Keris. The cake, in Balhousie’s trademark turquoise colour and featuring the company’s 30th birthday logo, was donated by Kerry Jones, granddaughter of resident Kit Wallace, and Kerry’s mother Sandra.
Arbroath local Kit (pictured above), who moved to Balhousie Monkbarns in May 2021, did the honours by cutting the cake.
Providing entertainment was Charlie Williams, who had residents and staff singing and dancing.
Balhousie Monkbarns features prominently in the company’s official 30th birthday video, which shows, through clever camera trickery, staff from a number of homes interacting with each other.
Home Manager Louise Clancy said: “This is a special birthday for the company so we wanted to do a special party. I think our staff and residents did us proud, particularly our Activity Coordinators Angela and Rachael. Thanks again to Kerry, Sandra, Cakes by Keris and Charlie Williams for helping make the day extra special.”
