Residents from a Perthshire care home have been treated to a spectacular outdoor performance from a local circus troupe.

Performing a 1960s themed pop-up show called ‘Bring Me Sunshine’, Perth-based Adventure Circus dazzled residents and staff at Balhousie Pitlochry care home with the show they created during lockdown.

The award-winning circus and fitness club performed a socially distanced array of acrobatics, dance, aerial skills and juggling during the show in the home’s gardens. When they finished, the residents loved the performance so much that they sang them a song to say ‘thank you’.

The visit was thoroughly enjoyed by the residents and the staff at the popular Perthshire home. Sandra Hutton, Interim Home Manager at Balhousie Pitlochry, said:

“What a fantastic afternoon our residents and staff had watching the incredible Adventure Circus perform in our home’s gardens. Their performance was very energetic and visual. Our residents and staff are still talking about it days later. We’d like to thank Adventure Circus for coming to perform in what was a really unique experience for everyone.”

Sheilah Harvey, Head of Operations at Balhousie Care Group, added:

“Due to the ongoing Coronavirus situation, our residents have not been able to embark on any field trips, something they enjoyed regularly before lockdown happened. Garden visits from groups like Adventure Circus offer a safe, socially distanced alternative which has a hugely positive impact on our residents.”
