Balhousie Stormont Lodge is planting the seeds for a spectacular garden and lots of fun activity as residents enjoy some Spring planting.
This week’s sunny weather saw residents and staff at the Blairgowrie care home launch ‘Project Bloom’, with indoor and outdoor gardening activities as well as a call for donations from the local community.
Stormont Lodge is looking for indoor plants of any age, outdoor pots and overpots, seedling propagation pots and fruit plants for ‘Project Bloom’. The project is part of a company-wide competition across Balhousie Care Group’s 26 homes. Balhousie in Bloom will see the group’s homes show off their stunning gardens and create some buzz in their local communities. There is a prize of £500 for the grand winner, which will go towards the winning home’s residents’ comfort fund.
Savanna Henvey, Deputy Manager at Balhousie Stormont Lodge, said: “Our beautiful gardens at Stormont have always been popular but particularly during the past year when our residents and staff have really appreciated the outdoor space. We’re excited about Project Bloom and the extra gardening activities it’s providing for our residents – and of course the chance to win the company-wide competition! Any help the local community can give would be greatly appreciated.”
