Bob Middleton, a resident at Balhousie Monkbarns in Carnoustie, has made his own unique contribution to the national #GladtoCare Awareness Week by sharing his sign language skills.

Bob, who is teaching sign language to staff and fellow residents, signed ‘We’re glad to care’ along with Tracy, a domestic at the care home, as part of a national celebration of the incredible work care home teams have been doing up and down the country.

With the Coronavirus Crisis having been a trying time for the care industry in recent months, #GladtoCare Awareness Week, running from July 6 to 12, champions the incredible work that carers do, giving them the opportunity to shout about why they’re glad to work in care.

Spearheaded by Person Centred Software and Autumna, two major players in the care industry, the week shows appreciation for the extraordinary contributions that carers make to the lives of recipients of care, their families, and community members.
