The outside world may have changed unfathomably, but our care home staff are making sure that inside our care homes residents’ routines and activities continue as close to normal as possible.

At Balhousie Brookfield, one of our two care homes in Carnoustie, that’s meant a week of knitting, dominoes, movie watching, a birthday celebration – and a couple of new haircuts!

Home Manager Laurie Easom said: “Balhousie Brookfield is so lucky to have such a diverse, skilled team.  One of our care staff, Abbie, is a fully qualified barber so she treated our residents Iain and Bill to new haircuts. Next week the ladies in the home will enjoy some pampering from another carer, Shelley, who is a fully trained hairdresser. They’re all looking forward to their shampoo, blow dry and set.”

Penny, the home’s adopted Cocker Spaniel, has acquired a new bandana – made by Laurie’s daughter Bethany.

Lastly but most importantly, resident Eileen celebrated her birthday and was treated to a gorgeous cake. Happy Birthday Eileen!
