What is Christmas without a festive raffle and a huge Christmas hamper up for grabs!

Stormont Lodge activities coordinator Kaye expressed just that when she came up with the idea for boosting residents well-being funds.  She tells us….

“The team and residents at Stormont, along-with families and friends all donated items we could use to make up a beautiful Christmas hamper to raffle off as a prize, and use the ticket money to boost residents own funds.  Everyone was so generous, we were able to make three lovely hampers with all the items donated.  I booked a table at our local Tesco store in Blairgowrie where we set up for the day to sell our raffle tickets. We also sold some quirky little Christmas reindeer’s which were handmade by our residents and senior care assistant Amanda.”

The lucky winners of the large Christmas hamper were Blairgowrie local couple Mr and Mrs Kirkwood, who purchased their winning ticket in town and were delighted to receive the news that they had won.  Stormont home manager Cheryl told us “It’s been a great start to Christmas.  Tesco have been very welcoming with our fundraising and we have met some lovely people.  From the raffle and table sale we’re delighted to have raised £230 to add to our residents comfort fund. These funds go towards providing our residents with all the extra things in life that bring them joy and fulfilment, from specialised art and craft sessions, music therapy, entertainment, to day trips exploring and visiting places of interest.  I would like to extend our appreciation and thank the people of Blairgowrie for their generosity and support.”
