In light of the continued easing of community restrictions surrounding COVID-19, Balhousie Care Group wanted to provide you with an update on our out-of-home visiting guidelines.

We are happy to advise that:

  • There are no longer any restrictions on taking your loved ones out of their care home for trips, family visits and overnight stays.
  • Where an out-of-home trip or visit occurs, residents will be tested on their return to the care home and will not need to self-isolate.

We know you will appreciate that COVID-19 and its variants are still of deep concern to us as carers for your loved ones, and we thank you sincerely for your patience and cooperation where a facility have been forced to temporarily close due to positive cases. However, we are heartened that community transmission numbers continue to move in the right direction.

In the meantime, please be assured that we continue to monitor our COVID-19 protocols and guidelines daily and to work with our Public Health partners to ensure that we do everything possible to mitigate risks of infection to residents and staff.

Good hygiene remains one of the best deterrents to spreading this disease and we would ask that you help us, our residents and our staff by continuing to wear face coverings appropriately, practicing hand hygiene and practicing social distancing as much as possible.

Lastly, we would again ask for your cooperation when a family member, or someone else in contact with your loved one, does test positive. If this happens, please let your care home know immediately.

If you have any questions your Home Manager will be happy to answer them.
