Balhousie Care Group is asking the public to come up with a name for its new high-end accommodation offering in Huntly, Aberdeenshire.

The award-winning care home group is asking locals and people with links to Huntly to delve into their local history knowledge to come up with a unique name for two cottage-style units which will be situated next to its existing care home (pictured).

Two stunning new units adjoining the existing Balhousie Huntly care home will provide 10 high-spec rooms and “just the right balance of privacy and assistance”, according to Balhousie Care Group, which runs 25 homes across the north and east of Scotland.

With smart TVs and sound systems, wi-fi and dedicated staffing, the units are aimed at low-dependency clients. Residents will have full access to facilities and activities at the adjoining care home. Balhousie Care Group is investing £750,000 in the properties, which are due to open at the end of the summer.

The person who submits the winning name – which will be used across both units – will receive a £100 shopping voucher, a hamper of Dean’s of Huntly goodies, and an invitation to the official opening of the new accommodation.
