Two Balhousie care homes had a super, outdoor, musical treat this week.

Gig on a Truck transported Andrew Gordon to Balhousie Coupar Angus and Balhousie Pitlochry care homes, to play a wide range of traditional songs, all outside in the sunshine. Residents relaxed and enjoyed live music in a safe setting – Pitlochry resident, Sadie, especially loved the concert, singing and clapping along!

Andrew Gordon is a Scottish Folk singer performing around the world for 20 years, and the FREE outdoor performance, organised by Horsecross Arts and Perth Theatre, with the Gannochy Trust, has been touring around local communities in Perth and Kinross through the summer – they even created their fantastic tourable stage.

Lorna Menzies from Balhousie Coupar Angus told us, “Emma Neck, Creative Learning Co-ordinator at Horsecross Arts, got in touch during lockdown and asked if there was anything they could do to entertain our residents. It was a lovely afternoon in the sunshine listening to Andrew – great fun was had by all. Thank you to Horsecross and Andrew for coming along.”
