A Perthshire couple marked an extra special wedding anniversary this week as they celebrated 60 years of marriage.
James Mitchell (83) and his wife Margo (80) married in Perthshire on September 19th, 1959. Last Thursday James, who is a resident at Balhousie North Inch North Grove care home, spent the day celebrating with Margo and their friends and family as well as staff and residents from the home.
The happy couple was presented with flowers and a telegram by local councillor Beth Pover of Ward 1 (Carse of Gowrie), as well as flowers from Balhousie Care Group. Their granddaughter Kayleigh Harlow also joined them. A ceilidh dance followed in the evening with a live accordion player for party guests to enjoy.
Pablo Vilar, Interim Manager at Balhousie North Inch North Grove care home, said: “It is wonderful to be able to be part of James and Margo’s diamond wedding celebrations along with their friends and family. They had a great time on Thursday and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the festivities here at Balhousie North Inch North Grove.”
