Balhousie Lisden was the first care home in the group to welcome residents, as its original property back in 1991. Thirty years on, that welcome is just as warm thanks to the skills of resident Anne Aitken.
Anne likes to make art in her spare time, particularly diamond art – which uses resin ‘jewels’ to create a design. So when Lisden started opening up again to visitors, the care home marked the occasion with a driftwood-style ‘Welcome’ sign made by Anne. It hangs in the lobby of the Kirriemuir home.
Anne says she also likes turning the diamond art kits into gifts for staff members. “It’s just my way of saying thank you.”
Thank you Anne – it is much appreciated!
