Balhousie Care Group announces new manager for care home in Pitlochry. Pablo Vilar, a qualified mental health nurse, has joined the Perthshire care home after previously working for another care home company in Inverness.
With over a decade of experience working in the care industry, Pablo brings a wealth of experience to the role, from trouble shooting in an operations role to his people-facing work in bar and restaurants before going to university.
Pablo has even worked in construction, so his experience is vast, but one common theme links all his roles together. Pablo explained:
“Every job I have ever done has allowed me to work closely with people which is something I’ve always enjoyed. Training to become a mental health nurse and working in the care sector is really an extension of that and enabled me to work with people a bit more formally.”
Since joining the team at Balhousie Pitlochry on August 20th, Pablo has been warmly welcomed by staff and residents. He added:
“There’s a great team here who have been very welcoming and I’m gradually getting to know them all as well as the residents. I’m really looking forward to building on the work that has already been done here, continuing to build the strong links we have with the local community as well as establish new ones. I also plan to continue giving our residents a say in how the care home is run – it is their home after all.”
