Balhousie Care Group kitchens are exploding with baking action, catching the vibe from the new series of the Great British Bake Off gracing our Tuesday evenings.

With Bread Week this week, residents at Balhousie North Inch care home in Perth have jumped at the chance to put their new bread-making machine to work, and then sampling the wonderful warm bread and jam. Nothing smells quite as wonderful! They even took time to make sure the birds were fed too.

At Balhousie Rumbling Bridge care home in Kinross, residents have taken to the kitchen for a warming menu of soup and sandwiches, as the autumn temperatures have settled in. In fact they’re putting together their own recipe book and of course having to try them all out, to check they’re good enough to make the pages! We’ll be keeping an eye out for that.

And in Balhousie North Grove care home, Perth, rather than Apple Blossom Time it’s apple-picking time. After a trip to the Blackwatch cafe for tea, cake and a blether, residents were inspired to make their own Hairy Biker’s recipe apple pies, providing a delicious dessert with ice cream for all.

While Balhousie Lisden care home in Kirriemuir are whipping up a storm with chocolate topped and choc chip buns to swoon over!
We need to keep a look out for Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood popping up across Balhousie – there are definitely a few Paul Hollywood handshakes due here!
