Kyle Manns, our Regional Learning and Development Facilitator for across Balhousie Care Group, beat off tough competition to take the award for Training, Learning and Staff Development at the Scottish Care National Care Awards 2023 at the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow last Friday evening.

Kyle has made a significant impact since joining Balhousie in early 2023, re-energising the company’s training procedures, introducing various new methods and modules for learning. His welcoming and interactive approach has proved very popular and has been well received by his colleagues. Kyle is extremely proud to have been recognised by Scottish Care. He said:

“I am humbled and honoured to have won this award for the work I do. Thank you. For me, this recognition is about every single member of our team making a difference for our residents.”

The glittering awards ceremony, which celebrates the very best individuals and teams working across the care sector in Scotland, was hosted by Pop Idol winner, Michelle McManus, and Scottish Care CEO Dr Donald Macaskill.

As well as Kyle’s triumph, Balhousie had three other finalists who were celebrated at the awards. Cammy Head, a Senior Carer at Balhousie Pitlochry and Lysette Ingram, a Carer from Balhousie Coupar Angus were both finalists in the Emerging Talent category, and our team in the Huntington’s Unit at Balhousie Rumbling Bridge were shortlisted for Specialist Service Unit of the Year.

Karen Johnson, Interim Managing Director at Balhousie Care Group, said:

“Our success at the prestigious Scottish Care Awards is a reflection of the hard work and dedication to providing the very best care that we see across our homes. I could not be more proud of Kyle and all our finalists for representing BCG so wonderfully and helping our staff be recognised for all that they do.”
