On Thursday 9th July, Balhousie Huntly resident Barbara McKenzie celebrated her 90th birthday. Barbara enjoyed receiving lots of lovely cards and gifts. She received so many bouquets of flowers that we think she could open a florist now!

Born and brought up on the West Coast of Scotland in a wee village called Drumbeg, Barbara has three daughters who she is very close with and has also been blessed with grandchildren and great – grandchildren.

Barbara enjoyed her working life as a teacher and has always been a very sociable lady. She loves her country dance music and enjoyed going to the dances in her younger days. She is always up for a laugh and enjoys a wee tipple of whisky now and then.

Residents also enjoyed some live dancing from Jessiman Dance School.

All of us at Balhousie Huntly wish Barbara many happy returns and hope she enjoyed her special day.

Here’s some lovely photos of Barbara on her birthday and some photos of when she was younger – including a beautiful wedding photo.
