Chloe Hansen received her Balhousie Tartan

Are you enjoying the Tartan Exhibition at the V&A in Dundee?

You may recall that last year, a very special tartan was created for Balhousie Care Group.

Schoolgirl Chloe Hansen won an art competition with a difference, celebrating the important bond she and her classmates built with Balhousie North Inch.

For 20 years, pupils at Balhousie Primary and residents shared activities, forming friendships spanning the generations.

One of those activities was to design a tartan – and ahead of the school moving to a new building, Balhousie Care Group ran an art competition, with a kilt as the top prize.

Chloe’s winning artwork, depicting a squirrel like those found in the grounds of North Inch, Balhousie Castle and a boy wearing a kilt.

Despite moving to South Africa, Chloe has now received her kilt in the Balhousie Intergenerational Tartan.

It features the red and white of Balhousie Primary, and the blue and grey of Balhousie Care Group’s logo.

Well done, Chloe!
