The team at Balhousie Dalnaglar got messy at Perth’s Colour Run – all for the sake of the home’s residents.

No fewer than 10 members of staff at the Crieff home braved the powder paint at the charity obstacle race at North Inch, raising money for the residents’ comfort fund.

While tackling the balance beams, camouflage nets and waterslides, they were pelted with brightly-coloured paint all the way round the five-kilometre course.

But their efforts were not in vain as they raised a total of £800, which will go towards buying equipment and arranging activities for the home.

Julie Davies, Activities Coordinator at the Perthshire home, said: “We all had a ball taking part in the Colour Run – even though we were washing paint out of our hair and ears for days!

“We’re very proud of the team, who always go above and beyond the call of duty for the residents – and always have a smile on their faces while they’re doing it.

“It was fantastic to be able to do something worthwhile to improve the lives of our residents, who mean the world to us.

“We’re looking forward to using the money we raised to organise even more exciting activities for them.”

The colour run is not the first challenge Dalnaglar’s Everyday Heroes have taken on in recent months.

Earlier this year, with a little help from residents, families and friends, walked the equivalent of the distance between Land’s End and John O’Groats – racking up 2.2 million steps over the 874 miles, and helping to plant several trees in the process.
