creating a collage from seeds and leaves

Our resident Sonia, at Balhousie Clement Park, in Dundee, really has a wonderful artistic flair. She’s always painting or colouring.

When she helped our Activities Coordinator, Hannah, to carve the pumpkin and decorate their home for Halloween, she asked if they could keep the seeds. She already had a vision forming in her creative brain.

She washed each seed and set them on a tray to dry.

Autumn had inspired Sonia – and not surprisingly with all the colours we’re surrounded with in this part of Scotland.

Here is the wonderful collage picture – a tree with the seeds for the bark and picked real leaves from the garden for the top.

Hannah said: “I think its absolutely beautiful -‘ and sustainable art – no plastics or synthetics. All natural. It’s now hanging above her bed.”

As Autumn is finally descending into winter, it will remain a lovely memento of warmer times!
