Balhousie residents are among more than 120 older people from across Perthshire taking part in this year’s Go4Gold.

A series of fun physical activities, it is held each year to highlight the importance of exercise and show how it contributes to residents’ quality of life.

This year marks the first time Go4Gold has been held in its full format since the Covid-19 pandemic – and boy, did they make the most of it!

At Ruthven Towers, Dalnaglar and Luncarty, residents enjoyed the programme, which was themed around the King’s coronation.

They came up with team names, made outfits and loved taking part in the events, which included football, golf and even beer pong.

Julie Davies, Activities Coordinator at Dalnaglar, said: “The residents really enjoyed taking part in Go4Gold.

“Our team name was Royal Flush, and each of the residents represented a king of each card suit.

“We even made a flag, with an original invite to the coronation, and the residents helped make it by cutting out magazines.

“One of our resident’s families helped us make the flag, and the flowers for our crown were donated by local shops and staff.

“We’re so grateful to them for helping our residents have an amazing time.”

The awards ceremony for this year’s Go4Gold will take place on August 30. Stay tuned to find out how our residents did!
