Balhousie Care Group staff said a formal farewell to Terry Banks at a recent Christmas event in Dundee.

Home  Managers, Head Office and Operations staff gathered at the Apex City Quay in Dundee to say goodbye to Terry, who has been involved with the care provider since it was founded in 1992 by her brother Tony.

Terry, who trained as a nurse, has held Home Manager, Operations Support and projects roles within the organisation. After trying (and failing!) to retire a few years ago, she returned to work with Balhousie before finally stepping down in September this year following its sale to AcalisCare.

Jill Kerr, Group Chief Executive Officer for Balhousie Care Group, said: “Terry has been chief, cook and bottle washer at Balhousie – she literally has helped with everything from running a home to cooking and cleaning. We thank her for her invaluable help and support over the years. She will be missed but we wish her a happy and healthy retirement.”

Terry made her last public appearance for Balhousie at the Courier Business Awards 2022 when she picked up Tony Banks’ award for Business Leader of the Year.
