It is Dementia  Awareness week from the 3rd – 8th June, so at Luncarty House and it was decided among the residents that a party would be held on Wednesday afternoon in the TV lounge .

A few of the residents were eager to help make bunting and started making it as soon as the box of goodies arrived. Making bunting is one of Rena R‘s favourite things to do and she made quite a few strings. She managed this with the help of carer Tessa who was  cutting out the shapes. Eddie was on hand to say where bunting and balloons needed to be hung. Rena and Jessie sprayed purple paint onto paper table clothes ready for the party.

The staff  got involved with the workmen painting their fingernails purple, the cook put on lovely purple bows and helped  make and ice the cupcakes.

Harry the dog, who is a regular visitor to the home, came in sporting a purple bow.

The table was set with beautiful violets and plenty of cakes and sweets.
