Mary Ingham’s 100th celebrations left the Aberdeenshire care home resident with a huge smile on her face all day.

Mary, who turned 100 this week, celebrated at Balhousie Huntly where she has been a resident since 2017.

Staff spoiled her, with flowers, cake, trifle, sherry, a piper and Scottish highland dancers. And to top it all off, Mary received a card from The Queen, brought to her by Deputy Lieutenant Steve Mackison.

Given The Queen’s passing just two days later, the card now has special meaning, and poignancy, for Mary.
