Balhousie Pitlochry care home sponsors Ballinluig AFC in latest community partnership

The popular Balhousie Pitlochry care home is backing Ballinluig AFC football team as match sponsor for the club.

The home has signed a year-long sponsorship of the amateur football club, which is based in the village of Ballinluig just outside Pitlochry.

The Perthshire Amateur Football Association (PAFA) Division 2 club celebrated its new sponsorship with a visit to the care home, where resident Gordon Dilworth met player Blair Stephen – and ably showed off his own footwork.

Claire Mackay, Home Manager at Balhousie Pitlochry, said: “We are of the firm belief that care homes are an important part of a local community, so we are always looking to strengthen our links locally. That’s why we are delighted to be backing Ballinluig AFC as a match sponsor.”

Dougie Morrison, Club Manager for Ballinluig AFC, said: “The club are delighted to have Balhousie Care Group Pitlochry as our new Match day sponsor for the 2022/23 season. It’s is always great to have the support from local businesses and Ballinluig AFC are grateful to have Balhousie on board.”

This is the latest in a line of sports sponsorships announced this year by Balhousie Care Group, which has 26 care homes in six regions of Scotland. These include Blairgowrie Junior Football Club, Celtic FC’s Sensory Room and blind golfer Barry McCuskey.

About Balhousie Care Group

Balhousie Care Group was formed in 1991 to fill a gap in quality residential care in North East Scotland. Today, with 26 homes in the area, it is one of the leading providers of care for the elderly in Scotland, providing care to almost 1000 residents.

Owned by AcalisCare, Balhousie Care prides itself on its person-centred approach to care. Putting people right at the forefront of everything they do; it’s inclusive of everyone. They capture this philosophy through the roll out of ‘Together We’re Great’, an initiative which recognises the skills, talents, attributes and support areas for each and every person involved in the organisation. Together We’re Great aims to value individuality and promote excellence across the organisation.

A Participation Charter – a first-of-its-kind in the care home sector – commits to residents getting a bigger say than ever in the care they receive, from writing care home policies to recruiting staff.

Balhousie Care Group is the recipient of numerous awards. These include four Scottish Care Awards, three 2022 Courier Business Awards including Business of the Year, a 2022 s1Jobs Shine Award and a 2021 Great British Care Award
