As part of our series on the stars of our TV advert, we meet Liz McKay, a resident at Balhousie Coupar Angus.
Liz McKay’s cheery smile as she starred in the Balhousie Care Group TV ad made her an instant hit with viewers.
The 77-year-old, who moved in to Coupar Angus last year, loved taking part – and especially enjoyed having her hair and makeup attended to by Senior Carer Lysette, which you can see in our behind-the-scenes photos.
A former care home worker herself, Liz worked in the laundry at Rosemount nursing home in Blairgowrie for many years.
She also enjoys showing her artistic side, especially a lifelong love of tapestry. Although she struggles with it following a stroke, she continues to enjoy colouring – especially therapeutic colouring for adults, an ever-popular activity among the residents of Coupar Angus.
Liz also has a passion for the music of Elvis Presley, while her favourite memory? “Meeting my husband Jim and getting married to him,” she says. “We were married for 54 years.”
