On the afternoon 1st of October Monkbarns Care Home held a Harvest Festival to raise money for the residents comfort fund, which goes towards their entertainment, trips and activities.

The Minister from St Andrews Church very kindly opened our festival by giving thanks for the harvest and a short sermon.

We had a variety of interesting features such as; cake and candy, tombola, raffle to win a hamper, and various other activities which included getting your picture taken with a snake or chameleon.

Sheana, Gordon, Thelma, Casey, Kira, Caleb, Taylor, Keith were among a few of those who had their picture taken with the snake.

We would like to give thanks to all those who helped to contribute in making this event such a success, including Minister Keith for his lovely sermon, Alison from Eden’s Garden for bringing along some friendly critters for pet therapy, our wonderful residents,  families and friends.   A special thanks goes to Flo and Isabel who lended a helping hand on the day and also to Sarah Casey who is currently volunteering here at Monkbarns care home as part of her Duke of Edinburgh Award.

A grand total of £250 for our resident’s funds was raised.

Thank you all!
