Willowbank care home residents and care team had a great time creating a pictorial memory lane feature for our home.

Our ‘memory lane’ project has ran for a few weeks and is now complete and takes pride of place at Willowbank home.  The project involved residents, staff, family and friends who all helped to choose areas of interest from throughout the decades, with topics ranging from music and fashion to local and global highlights.  Our memory lane dates back as far as the 1900’s, which covers most of our residents lifetimes.

Pictured is Frances, who in particularly enjoyed suggesting music and songs to be included in ‘memory lane’.  Frances told us what a big impact music has had in her life and how hearing songs from throughout the decades brings back such wonderful memories and feelings for her to reminisce on and relive.

Residents, family, friends and staff now regularly visit ‘memory lane’ and use this as a fun and helpful tool in aiding memory and creating meaningful discussions and interactions together.
