The residents at Balhousie Pitlochry have been having a ‘wheely’ good time using special bikes to encourage them to exercise more regularly.
The initiative has seen the bikes, which can be used using feet or hands, introduced in all the home’s units and they’ve proved a popular way for the residents to get some additional daily exercise.
The bikes display a count of how many pedals they have made, so it’s a great way to monitor residents’ progress as they use the bike regularly.
Activities Coordinator Pavlina Pajorova is planning to introduce exercise classes 2-3 times a week and record residents’ distances in miles eventually.
