care staff standing in a new garden area

Our wonderful team at Balhousie Monkbarns in Arbroath have let their green fingers do the talking recently. And the remembering.

Members of the care home’s team have worked in the grounds to create a memory garden, planting roses for those residents who have passed on. One of the Senior Carer Assistants involved got her husband to make a beautiful wooden plaque to mark why the garden is there.

Once completed, the woodworker officially opened the Monkbarns Memory Garden by cutting a ribbon and giving a wee speech about past residents: gone but never gorgotten and the roses planted in their memory.

A special day. And a very special garden.
