Residents at Balhousie Huntly care home, Aberdeenshire took a day trip out to gorgeous Portsoy, on the Moray coast last week. Taking in the benefits of the sea air, they visited the lovingly restored, Salmon Bothy.

A former working Salmon House, the Salmon Bothy is now a museum, a base for family history research, as well as home to a fully functional community space and venue.

Residents enjoyed a wonderful afternoon, taking in the displays, artefacts and information about Portsoy’s harbours and salmon fishing operations, as well as taking soaking up some refreshment from the sea views.

But the best refreshment of all? Ice creams on the bus on the way home!
