When it’s a special birthday – or any birthday really – the staff at Balhousie Rumbling Bridge in Crook of Devon, Kinross-shire, make sure their residents have a really memorable time.
Marie enjoyed her 60th birthday recently, with celebrations lasting over a few days.
Firstly there were visits from family and friends bringing plenty of gifts and, even more importantly, lots of laughter. The following day Activities Coordinator David and Support Worker Aimee had organised a birthday lunch out – and Marie got up bright and early to get ready! Marie loved having a celebratory meal and said it was a beautiful restaurant.
Then of course, on any fun-packed birthday, a spot of retail therapy is required – at the Thistle Shopping Mall in Stirling. Marie was on a beeline to look in Lush and The Body shop, making some special birthday purchases including bath bombs and wonderful ‘smellies’.
And finally, arriving home tired but happy, Marie was presented with her birthday cake by Staff Nurse Vicky, especially made for her big day, topped off with a phone call from family and a wee relaxing tipple.
