Four generations (Left to right) Alexis, Mia, Anna, resident and Granny Anna with manager Sheryl Cruickshanks.

The granddaughter of one of our residents at Balhousie St Ronans put her running shoes on to take on the Edinburgh Women’s 10K to raise money for the care home and a charity close to her heart.

Anna Rowe decided to sign up for the run to raise money for the residents’ comfort fund. Anna’s grandparents were both residents St Ronans, and her Granny, Anna Young, is still a resident there so Anna wanted to raise money to go towards the various day trips which brings them all so much joy.

“They have an absolutely fantastic bunch of staff who look after my Wee Granny (and of course my Grandad when he was still with us) amazingly”, said Anna.

A teacher at Monifieth High School, Anna decided to split the money raised, with half being donated to the charity, Movember, in memory of her teaching colleague, Mr Sleigh, an avid runner who sadly passed away this year.

Anna raised an amazing £1500 in total, with £750 donated to the residents’ comfort fund at St Ronans.

A huge ‘thank you’ to Anna for her kindness and generosity!
